These classic homemade toys are to be cherished for generations

Jerry Sims started making toys for his two boys 20 years ago, and the rest is history! People now know him as the Happy Toy Maker! Everything is built and shipped from his shop in Happy, Texas. It is a family affair when it comes to creating these unique farm toys. He has some awesome people that help me build the toys, “My mom paints almost every toy that leaves the shop.”

His wife, Patrice, handmakes all of the animals and little toys you see on the website. She makes casts out of the toys she hand carves and then uses a sturdy resin. She paints each and every toy. Like Jerry, she’s always coming up with something new to make.

“We realized it was hard to find store-bought animals that fit in my toys since they’re big. She makes roping steers, horses, cowboys & cowgirls, dogs, unicorns, wild pigs, chickens, and so much more.” Be sure to check out all of them on the Accessories page!

His mom, Patricia is 78 years-old and paints 90% of the toys that leave the shop. She also helps him  with a lot of the behind-the-scenes business like keeping up with payments and orders.
